LEGAL / PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 25 April 2026
We collect voice recordings for linguistic research only. We do not sell your data. No name or email is required to contribute.
What we collect
When you contribute a recording we store the audio file, the prompt text you read, a randomly generated session ID, your self-reported language or dialect, and approximate country derived from your IP address. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information unless you provide it via the contact form.
How we use your data
Recordings are used to build open linguistic datasets for academic and non-commercial research. They may be distributed publicly under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. Each recording carries only the language tag, dialect label (if given), and recording date — no personal identifiers.
Storage and security
Audio files are stored in Supabase object storage hosted in EU data centres. Metadata is kept in PostgreSQL with row-level security (RLS) enabled. Access is restricted to project maintainers.
Your rights
You may request deletion of your recording by contacting us with the session ID shown after upload. We will process removal requests within 30 days.
Cookies
We use only essential session cookies required for the recording flow. No advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies are set.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
